      • The Way we Work

        GFa was established in September of 2008 with offices in Argentina and Ireland, working on buildings types ranging from master planning to house design. The practice continues to expand its portfolio of projects in Europe and South America.

        We believe that architecture can improve the quality of our lives. We believe that architecture is a participatory process founded on listening. We listen in order to ask the right questions.

        We are a design led practice we aspire to bring quality to all our projects from the big to the small. Architecture is an expression of our values and as such we strive to produce sustainable response to our clients’ needs.

        Our primary focus is to provide the client with value added, high quality, reliable and cost effective architectural services. The emphasis throughout is on achieving a high level of quality in all aspects of our work, from conceptualisation to the realization of the building on site.

      • Uruguay

        Our concentration is to develop projects in Uruguay. The studio has a luxury beach house on site which is a test bed of prefabricated construction techniques as well as design ideas in response to the climate in this part of South America.
        The external and internal walls are all fabricate in the workshop and transported to site as a series of panels. The reduced weight of the superstructure has cost benefits for the raft foundation.
        The design is rich in covered external spaces; galleries, sunken seating areas, pergolas with hammocks and porch swings, swimming pool, external dining, etc. The studio has designed all the furniture for the project.
        The design concepts and construction techniques we are already l developing further in the next Punta Del Este project coming online later in the year. The challenge for us is bringing this high level of prefabricated construction to Buenos Aires in a real and sustainable way.

        The Studio is located in Buenos Aires where the Practice was established in 2008.
        Initially the majority of our projects where in Ireland where we had a significant presence. Our concentration moved to South America due to the difficult circumstances which the Irish Economy was facing at the time.
        Although we are looking to expand our project portfolio to other parts of South America we continue to work from Buenos aires.
