The office design saw the amalgamation of General Cereals and Kerry Food Group under one roof. The 300m2 offices has 33 workstations three meeting rooms, cellular and open plan office space with kitchen, dining and toilets.
The layout of the open plan and cellular offices allow natural light to reach every workstation. The cellular offices are fully glazed with privacy provided by obscured areas of glass.
Care was taken to deal with unwanted sound. An acoustic ceiling was suspended over workstations to reduce the levels of unwanted sound. Wooden acoustic panels are strategically placed to ensure that sound levels are reduced and to provide and natural feel to the office space.
This project involved creating a strong identity for a new company bringing a new product to Buenos Aires. The 100 year old premises were renovated in a sensitive and sustainable manner. The Building was stripped back to exposes the original pinotea wooden roof beams and brick roof slab. The new interior elements are white with classical detailing.
Colour is provided by a mural of fruit on one wall and by the menu on the other. Care was taken to avoid problems with noise. Large panels with sound absorption are suspended from the ceiling, trapping unwanted sound. The project was produce on a small budget.
Site update: Dwelling on Lote 224 of San Benito is under construction with the RC raft foundation slab now complete. The raft is made up of a series of 500mm concrete beams reinforced by 6nos. 12mm re-bars tied together with a concrete slab re-enforced with two 150mm meshes of 8mm re-bar. The raft rests of 600mm of hardcore and an overlapped polythene DPC.
The waster pipes have been installed in the slab prior to pouring along with the key electrical conduits.
Block work will commence after Christmas.
