Office Design and Urban Infill, Catherine Street, Limerick, 2007

The urban infill development consists of 5,242m² of Commercial accommodation over six floors and 110 basement car parking spaces. This infill design is located within the conservation area and includes a number of proposed protected structures. Respect has been shown to the surrounding Georgian Buildings in terms of scale, tone, colour and rhythm.

The building is arranged around a free-flowing courtyard which has a brighter, lighter elevational treatment. The courtyard is enlivened by the two entrances and lift cores to the building are accessed from the space. The street edge is enlivened by the inclusion of two retail units which respond to the growing trend of cafes along the Street.

Office Design for Kerry Group, Buenos Aires
Kerry Food Group and General Cereals

The office design saw the amalgamation of General Cereals and Kerry Food Group under one roof. The 300m2 offices has 33 workstations three meeting rooms, cellular and open plan office space with kitchen, dining and toilets.

Design Solution

The layout of the open plan and cellular offices allow natural light to reach every workstation. The cellular offices are fully glazed with privacy provided by obscured areas of glass.
Care was taken to deal with unwanted sound. An acoustic ceiling was suspended over workstations to reduce the levels of unwanted sound. Wooden acoustic panels are strategically placed to ensure that sound levels are reduced and to provide and natural feel to the office space.
